2023-12-21 21:11Today has been a journey.
I was very excited for my long anticipated hair appointment for a cut and color. The cut is exactly what I wanted. The color, however, didn't turn out at all. Barely a tint, and more burgandy than the purple I asked for.
Fair enough. I wasn't upset. I know that when you get a new color you've never tried before, you've got to be prepared for the various ways it can turn out in different kinds/colors of hair. Fair enough!
So I went to Sally Beauty and got some bleach, developer, and some dye in the color I wanted. The girl was very nice and helped me make selections and walked me through what my hair would probably look like after bleaching, then what the dye I selected would most likely look like once I put it in my bleached hair.
I spent two and a half hours applying the bleach and dye, doing rinses, waiting for my hair to dry between each. Aaaand it turned out magenta. Not purple at all.
So! I went on the Sally website (because it was already late) and ordered a darker color. They have a free 2-hour delivery (it will come tomorrow since I ordered after cutoff) so! I am gonna try to darken it before work tomorrow if I can. I know it's not good for my hair to put so much dye in it in such a short amount of time, but like, I want what I want and it's Christmas and I'm going to see a bunch of people and I don't want magenta hair when I do.
Hopefully third time is the charm!
