Hello, all!

Moving is expensive. Moving also demands a certain willingness to downsize before the big day, which is what I've been trying to accomplish over the past month or so. I've decided to devise a little sale post in an attempt to raise some funds to help pay for the move (and the second impending move later this summer) while also purging some of my belongings and putting them into the hands of good folks!

Below will be a quick and concise inventory, all corresponding photos always kept under the cut. Inventory will constantly be updating as I add more stuff! So even if you don't see anything that tickles your fancy, maybe check back in every so often. Please feel free to PM me if you'd like more/better pictures of anything!

Prices are kept low low in an attempt to unload as much as possible. Discounts for multiple items. All prices do not include shipping; I will be shipping from the US, and I hesitate to offer international shipping only because it is so very expensive, but I suppose that is the buyer's prerogative!

This post will be pinned to the top of my blog for easy access. Shares and mentions are always appreciated, especially if you see something that might be up someone else's alley.

Please don't hesitate to DM me if you just need certain colors of felt, or are only interested in certain fabric, and we'll work something else out from there. Also don't hesitate to ask questions about how much I've got, or request better pictures! Price varies on these based on quantity.

Hey guys!

Wanting to expand upon an AU I recently became obsessed with, but I don't know how to begin until I have some necessary information sorted, and so I turn to you guys because I know I have a significant number of Trek fans here.

What would a human, non-Vulcan, modern AU Spock do for a living? What present-day careers could you see him having, and why? I'm all ears. I need suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

ETA:

So far thoughts/suggestions I've had are college professor (something niche, like entomology), a forensic pathologist, research scientist, and computer programmer.

Thoughts? Do you agree with any of these?

I sit here, once again, craving AOS Mirror content. I do not know if I want to write it myself or if I want someone to write it for me, I just know that I crave that shady, full-dark shit with the AOS crew and I want it pretty badly.

Chris Pine's character from Horrible Bosses 2 continues to be my current image of what a decent Mirror!Jim might look like, based on appearance, arrogance, and wild-eyed manic energy. The jacket doesn't hurt.

That's it, that's the post. u.u

Just on my mind tonight.

I have nothing important or intelligent to contribute to DW today except for this tweet a friend sent to me.

If you're into TOS/AOS Trek and especially if you like McKirk, please click it, because it made me giggle.

Absolutely gutted to hear about Nichelle Nichols.

I know that in recent years she has not been doing well, between illness and issues with her son behaving in ways that had undoubtedly caused her lots of stress. Even so, it's never a good day when you click your phone on and immediately see that someone you treasure has appeared in the top headlines.

I consider myself really fortunate to have met her a few years ago, at the last Star Trek Las Vegas event I attended. She was all smiles, and extremely kind and attentive, allowing me to get teary eyed as I rambled at her and thanked her for everything she's done for the genre, for women in the genre specifically. I remember her clasping my hand in both of hers and thanking me in a way that seemed so much more sincere than so many other actors and actresses I've met over the years.

I was the very last one allowed to see her, that day. When the line formed, I was told they accepted cash only, and I remember sprinting across the exhibit hall, the convention floor, through the halls, across the casino, searching for an ATM. I remember balking at the exorbitant fees associated with pulling money from it. I remember that I was huffing and puffing, out of breath and red faced by the time I ran all the way back, and god, I had worn sandals that day. There was no one around. She was just sitting there alone at her table, getting ready to leave; the handler had left, leaving only her and her son behind. I was allowed to meet her even though the line had closed, and Nichelle seemed genuinely happy to allow me to come behind the table to sit next to her and talk for a minute and get a couple of pictures with her. Worth it. Completely worth it.

This woman accomplished so much during a time when the odds were stacked against her. She inspired so many other women, so many other black women in particular, who were able to see her on TV in a rare role where she was depicted as being an equal to her peers, rather than being thrust into the background or cast as a servant or worse. She was an amazing dancer. A beautiful singer. I know she could play the piano, and probably other instruments, besides. When she was tempted to quit her role as Uhura in response to so many of her lines being cut, she took inspiration in the hope she gave to other people of color and stayed with it, feeling that what she was doing was more than merely a job. And it was.

I was supposed to be working on my piece for [community profile] intoabar, but I wrote this instead for [personal profile] mxcatmoon because it is their birthday, and because they were one of the first people to befriend me when I showed up on the scene and have been cool to me ever since I sat down next to them on this stupid shuttle. Happy Birthday, friend!
