A couple of thoughts. If you just want to vent (understandable!) and aren't looking for suggestions, bail now!
Ask if they will accept current bank statements and a copy of your 2024 tax return. The rule of thumb for most management companies is that you need to make three times the monthly rent (ridiculous, I know). You can offer to pay a couple months in advance. If you can't swing that or they are hardlining their standard requirements, then maybe this one wasn't meant to be.
Have you tried supplementing the water with sports drinks?
