I am home, sans girlfriend.

Man, while that trip was really short, it was so good.

Fetching her from the airport was just this sweet spark of affection and excitement and connection. We had a few hours to kill before we could check into our hotel, so I took her to my favorite store (World Market) for some goodies, and then we had lunch. The hotel itself was very bare bones but in a good location and affordable for what it was. Right there in the heart of Koreatown.

Los Angeles Comic Con is a LOT smaller than San Diego Comic Con, but it is big enough to still seem huge. It's a big convention center, and because of it's large walkways and grand front atrium and tall staircases, there is a lot more room to breathe. The exhibit hall and artist alley are both sizeable as well, but with a more manageable feel.

Our cosplays went spectacularly. Once again we were heaped upon with praise and admiration, had our pictures taken I don't even know how many times, and even ended up on a couple of recordings for peoples' youtube channels. Exchanged social medias with several people we met, I got to hand out a bunch of my friendship bracelets, and we ended up befriending this other trio of people that we hung out with quite a lot over the weekend.

We went to Korean BBQ - we were having Korean BBQ back in March when she asked me to be her girlfriend - so as far as a date night went, the vibes were there. We found this awesome donut stop a couple of blocks away that we visited every morning, ate street dogs (the best hotdogs are the bacon wrapped ones people grill on the street corners in LA), and had, you know, all the fun two cosplaying sapphics can have in a hotel during con weekend.

The only real snafu was when someone set off the fire alarm around 1:30am last night. No one knew it was a false alarm until we were all outsted from our rooms and made to gather outside, and the security guard let us know there was no fire and everything was fine and that we could go back upstairs.

It was so hard to take her back to the airport, but now begins the new countdown, until I go and spend Christmas with her.

I wish it weren't so annoying to share photos on DW. I might upload a couple of our cosplays when I get the chance, and when she's sent me the rest of the ones she took on her phone. For now I'm going to re-adjust to civilian life.
