Happy to be home.
2022-11-20 21:56I'm home! Had a wonderful weekend.
Friday, drove down to San Diego after work. We went right out as soon as we were checked in and unpacked; headed to Old Town where the Whaley House is, as well as an old mission, a blacksmith, a gem/fossil shop, an old-timey candy shop, and a bunch of other fun places to poke around in. For dinner, we ate at this amazing Japanese restaurant, and I was introduced to sparkling sake.
Saturday, we took an uber downtown to visit a cat cafe! Amazing! Wonderful! The realization of a lifelong dream! We also happened across a random gallery (as you do, in downtown San Diego), a street fair, and so many dogs we were allowed to pet. After, we took another uber across that long crazy bridge to Coronado Island, where we had ridiculous ice cream sundaes at this place called Moo Time, and then went exploring the famous Coronado Hotel and poked around in still more shops.
Today, we had to check out of the hotel, and I drove us back up the coast to Los Angeles, where my friend's great aunt lives. We spent the day exploring Little Tokyo, having lunch at this great hole in the wall spot that had an amazing food-delivering cat robot. Window shopped a little, got matcha ice cream, and hit up the market for some snacks. Then I had to leave my friend, and drive home.
I'm exhausted, but I had a great time. Eager to sleep in my own bed, though. Wish I didn't have work tomorrow.
